The whole family will enjoy the 2,700 animals that call the park home. Some of these include cheetahs, hyenas, peacocks, lemurs, elephants, chimpanzees, giraffes, zebras, alligators, hippos, lions, tigers, rhinos, and so many more! The spacious park means that these majestic creatures have plenty of room to roam in a habitat specially designed for them. Enclosures are often built to allow amazing up-close views of the animals. You can look through an underwater window to see a Bengal tiger swimming by or even a hippo!
Busch Gardens has many state-of-the-art rides. The newest ride, a roller coaster called Cheetah Hunt, has steep plunges and reaches speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. The SheiKra is a bottomless coaster which leaves you feeling suspended in air while rushing up a 200 foot climb and then dropping over a near-vertical edge at 70 miles per hour.
For younger children or adults who like more mild rides, the Jungle Flyers are suspended glider-style rides which gently and gracefully guide you over a portion of the wildlife park so that you can experience a different view of the animals. A Serengeti Railway which allows you a close up view of giraffes and gazelles and a Tanganyika Tidal Wave ride which splashes you down a drop are also great attractions.
Busch Gardens park hours vary, however, the park is open 365 days a year, typically from 10am to 6pm. Some rides have special hours of operation so it is advised that you check the website for availability. Busch Gardens offer several seasonal themed programs including Howl-O-Scream September and October and Christmas Town in November and December.
Admission into the park changes occasionally but currently the ticket price for children over 10 and adults is $74.99. Ticket cost for children between 3 and 9 is $66.99.
