(08/15/2013) Dominique Adair, M.S., RDDominique Adair, M.S., RD, is well known for her work with the entertainment industry, athletes, and her contribution to cardiovascular and cadiometabolic wellness. She is a nutrition counselor, media consultant, certified fitness professional, certified Clinical Lipid Specialist, Tobacco Treatment Specialist and freelance health and nutrition writer. Adair serves as an advisor and on-air commentator to electronic and print media, develops curricula and texts, and sits on the advisory boards of several national fitness and wellness organizations. She recently partnered with Dr. Oz and ShareCare, making wellness and a healthy weight a realistic and accessible goal for hundreds of thousands of people. A Registered Dietitian, Adair earned her undergraduate degree at Barnard College/Columbia University and master’s degree in clinical nutrition from City University of New York, graduating from both school with phi beta kappa honors. Prior to becoming a licensed therapist James worked extensively as a Health and Physical Education Teacher, as well as a fitness professional. James integrates Client-Centered, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Solution-Focused approaches in his work with clients. Prior to joining Athletes’ Performance, Bob worked as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Texas A&M University where he also worked with a variety of athletes ranging from male football players to female equestrian riders. Wojtek Chodzko-Zajko, PhDCurrently a professor of exercise science in the School of Exercise, Leisure and Sport at Kent State University, Wojtek J. Chodzko-Zajko, PhD, is editor of the Journal of Aging and Physical Activity and president of the International Society on Aging and Physical Activity. He served on the scientific advisory committee of the World Health Organization, which recently issued its guidelines for physical activity in older adults, and as chairperson of the Fifth World Congress on Physical Activity, Aging and Sports. Chodzko-Zajko has traveled to Korea, Iran, Oman, Japan, France, Belgium, Slovenia, Germany, Hong Kong, and Israel to speak on topics related to aging and physical activity. This year, Chodzko-Zajko assumed the position of head of the department of kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Bryan ClayBryan Clay is a father, philanthropist and a long-time Olympic athlete who earned a Gold Medal in the Decathlon at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. After already winning a Silver Medal in 2004, Bryan joined an exclusive group of American decathletes by earning the title of “World’s Greatest Athlete” with his 2008 win. A native of Hawaii, Bryan was deemed “Hawaii’s Hero” by local media and is still considered one of the state’s most recognizable athletes. Prior to his Olympic win, he founded The Bryan Clay Foundation in 2005 aimed at empowering today’s youth to take advantage of opportunities available to them and reach their full potential. Bryan also wrote “Redemption,” the story of his unlikely path to Olympic Gold that began with a fist-fighting, drug abusive, pre-suicidal kid with no faith. Ellen Coleman, MA, MPH, RDEllen is a Registered Dietitian who also has a Master's degree in exercise physiology. She has many years of experience as a sports dietitian and has written several books in this area. Past chair of the Sports, Cardiovascular, and Wellness Nutrition dietetic practice group of the American Dietetic Association (SCAN) and is a board certified specialist in sports dietetics (CSSD). Dr. Natalie Digate-Muth MD, MPH, RDNatalie Digate Muth, MD, MPH, RD, is a community pediatrician, ACE senior health strategist and a registered dietitian widely recognized for her expertise in childhood obesity, nutrition and fitness. Aside from writing articles and book chapters for more than 50 publications, Natalie has also received praise for her book “Eat Your Vegetables! and Other Mistakes Parents Make: Redefining How to Raise Healthy Eaters” released in 2012. She has been featured as an expert on San Diego Living and ABC World News Now, and in several publications including The New York Times. When not at his corporate office desk or teaching new franchisees the product, he travels around the country training and educating new Orangetheory Fitness staff on the science, program design and delivery of what NY Times article says is "The Best One Hour Workout in the Country". Most recently, he presented his 19th training certification for Orangetheory Fitness in Hollywood, Florida. Andrew Garrison, MS CPTAndrew Garrison, MS, CPT, is a 27-year veteran of the Bernalillo County Government in Albuquerque, N.M., and a 10-year ACE Personal Trainer. Andrew serves as the principal health and wellness administrator throughout Bernalillo County, delivering wellness education to more than 2,600 full-time employees. In the realm of public safety, he validated the Metropolitan Detention Center physical fitness test battery for corrections officers and serves as a trainer in the cadet academy. In the Sheriff's Office, he developed and delivers a wellness education course that has been accredited by the New Mexico Department of Public Safety. Andrew’s unique expansion of the exercise and diet equation explores the profound worlds of psychology and neuroscience, and drives home tactical wellness skills from private sector strategic planning principles. A former Division I football player, Andrew holds two bachelor’s degrees from the University of New Mexico in physical education and Spanish, as well as a master’s degree in sports administration. He currently serves as a subject-matter expert for ACE. Craig Horswill, Ph. DCraig is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) where he teaches and oversees research by students. Craig joined the UIC faculty in 2011 after working for 16 years in industry as a scientist and manager with The Gatorade Company (Gatorade Sports Science Institute). Craig also spent eight years conducting research in pediatrics at Columbus Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University (1988-1994), and teaching and conducting research in the Human Performance Lab at Ball State University (1986-88). Craig earned a PhD in exercise physiology from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in 1986. He did his undergrad in natural sciences/chemistry and an MS in exercise physiology at the University of Wisconsin Madison. Craig’s general research interests include examining the effects of hydration status, nutrition, and dietary supplements on high-intensity intermittent exercise performance; pediatric exercise physiology; and methodologies for assessing body composition. Donna HutchinsonDonna is the founder and co-owner of On The Edge Fitness Educators. She is a strong advocate for the development of fitness leaders into community leaders who can then inspire people to add movement into their every day life. Donna travels extensively, consulting and speaking about business growth and development. She shows how individuals and organizations can improve their business by creating innovative and creative work environments for employees to take charge and reach their full potential. Born in Montreal, Donna now resides in Vancouver in the beautiful Province of British Columbia where she shares her passion for life with her dog Bailey.  Mark P. Kelly Ph.D., CSCSAs an ACE exercise physiologist, Mark P. Kelly, Ph.D., CSCS, produces workshops, presentations and articles aimed at teaching fitness professionals how to bridge the gap between science and application. With more than 25 years of experience in the industry, he has been involved in exercise science as author, presenter, trainer and athlete. He has been teaching sciences in universities, performing research, and physiological assessments in exercise science for more than 20 years. Aside from being a nationally ranked duathlete, Mark has written several research studies published by ACSM, NSCA and FASEB. He holds a doctorate from the University of New Orleans.  Ben Le VesconteCalled 'the World's best barefoot running coach' by Chris McDougall, author Born to run and 'Exceptional' by Harvard Professor Daniel Lieberman, Lee Saxby is at the forefront of applied barefoot science. Lee has been coaching movement for 20 years and has spent the last 10 years coaching barefoot technique to help runners overcome injury and increase performance. Ben Le Vesconte is Lee Saxby’s protégé. Ben has been learning intensely from Lee since 2009. Having undertaken a 3 year apprenticeship Ben has now coached hundreds of personal trainers, medical professionals and runners of all ages, transitioning them safely to injury free, skillful barefoot technique. Ben co-developed the Barefoot Movement Science Online Module and delivers 1 Day Running Technique Instructor courses and learn the skill of barefoot running days in the UK, Europe and USA. Michael Mantell Ph. D.Michael R. Mantell, Ph.D., earned his doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania after completing his master’s degree in clinical psychology at Hahnemnann Medical College, where he wrote his thesis on the psychological aspects of obesity. Michael serves as a ACE senior fitness consultant for behavioral sciences, chief behavioral scientist for Anytime Fitness, and as a member of the faculty at Equinox Fitness Training Institute. He also works as a national community ambassador for Experience Life Magazine's health initiative and appears weekly on San Diego's CW channel 6. Aside from writing two best-selling books, Michael is a consultant to Total Gym and Les Mills International and a contributing author for IHRSA. Michael provides opinion, commentary and analysis in print and broadcast media throughout the world.  Jessica Matthews MS, E-RYTJessica Matthews, MS, E-RYT, wears many hats in the fitness industry, most notably with her work as an ACE exercise physiologist, a noted media spokesperson and fitness blogger. She also serves as an adjunct professor at Miramar College, where she teaches courses within the Department of Exercise Science, Health and Nutrition. Aside from holding both ACE Personal Trainer and ACE Group Fitness Instructor certifications, Jessica is also an experienced registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. Jessica has been featured as a fitness expert on CNN and by various publications including Shape Magazine, Self and Oxygen. She also teaches movement philosophy, fitness and wellness, human motor development, and strength training. With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, he has created internationally-recognized training programs and high-caliber educational materials for several academic and government organizations. Prior to joining ACE, Anthony was the national personal training manager for Les Mills in New Zealand. There, he created and directed education programs, and managed training practices and policies organization-wide. Anthony has also managed fitness club operations, and assisted in the promotion of sports and fitness events. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Demontfort University in Bedfordshire, England, and a master’s degree in exercise physiology from San Diego State University in California. Keith is a Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine and a member of The American Society for Nutrition. Dr. Wilson has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters and published abstracts on sports nutrition, supplementation, and resistance training in athletic and clinical situations. His research has covered both the cellular and molecular responses to supplementation and nutrition, as well as the whole body changes in muscle size, strength, and power. Vonda Wright, MD, MSVonda Wright, MD, is a practicing orthopedic surgeon and internationally recognized authority on active aging and mobility. She specializes in sports medicine and is one of the few female orthopedic surgeons in the United States. Vonda is the founding director of Performance and Research Initiative for Masters Athletes (PRIMA), and CEO and founder of UmuvU: Moving You to Your Best Life. In addition to her practice, Vonda serves as the only orthopaedic surgeon on the board for the Dr. Oz show and Sharecare.com. She regularly appears as an expert on The Doctors, ABC, CNN, CBS and NBC, and she’s been featured in Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, USA Today, U.S. News & World Report, Maxim, Prevention, Fitness, MORE, Runner’s World, Best Life, Esquire, O, The Oprah Magazine and Arthritis Today. (12/31/1969)  Bryan ClayBryan Clay is a father, philanthropist and a long-time Olympic athlete who earned a Gold Medal in the Decathlon at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. After already winning a Silver Medal in 2004, Bryan joined an exclusive group of American decathletes by earning the title of “World’s Greatest Athlete” with his 2008 win. A native of Hawaii, Bryan was deemed “Hawaii’s Hero” by local media and is still considered one of the state’s most recognizable athletes. Prior to his Olympic win, he founded The Bryan Clay Foundation in 2005 aimed at empowering today’s youth to take advantage of opportunities available to them and reach their full potential. Bryan also wrote “Redemption,” the story of his unlikely path to Olympic Gold that began with a fist-fighting, drug abusive, pre-suicidal kid with no faith.Wojtek J. Chodzko-Zajko, PhDCurrently a professor of exercise science in the School of Exercise, Leisure and Sport at Kent State University, Wojtek J. Chodzko-Zajko, PhD, is editor of the Journal of Aging and Physical Activity and president of the International Society on Aging and Physical Activity. He served on the scientific advisory committee of the World Health Organization, which recently issued its guidelines for physical activity in older adults, and as chairperson of the Fifth World Congress on Physical Activity, Aging and Sports. Chodzko-Zajko has traveled to Korea, Iran, Oman, Japan, France, Belgium, Slovenia, Germany, Hong Kong, and Israel to speak on topics related to aging and physical activity. This year, Chodzko-Zajko assumed the position of head of the department of kinesiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
